iPHONE and AT&T Phone Plans

June 27th, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in General News

Just recently was announced the plans from AT&T for the new Apple iPhone that is being release at 6pm June 29th at all AT$T/Cingular stores

iPhone will be available in a 4GB model for $499 and an 8GB model for $599, and will work with either a PC or Mac.

iPhone activation requires an Internet connection; an iTunes Store account or a major credit card; a valid Social Security number (as required by AT&T); the latest version of iTunes available at http://www.itunes.com and a PC or Mac with a USB 2.0 port and one of the following operating systems: Mac OS(R) X v10.4.10 or later; Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later; or Windows Vista Home Premium, Business, Enterprise or Ultimate Edition.

iPhone requires a new two-year AT&T service plan. Customers with existing AT&T accounts will have the option of keeping their existing phone number and upgrading their account to work with iPhone.

Three service plans are available, starting at $59.99 a month. All three plans include unlimited data, Visual Voicemail, 200 text messages, rollover minutes and unlimited mobile-to-mobile calling.

Visual Voicemail, an industry first, allows consumers to see a listing of their voicemails, decide which messages to listen to, then go directly to those messages without listening to previous messages.

Individual plans are priced at $59.99 for 450 minutes, $79.99 for 900 minutes and $99.99 for 1,350 minutes. All plans include unlimited data (email and web), Visual Voicemail, 200 SMS text messages, roll over minutes and unlimited mobile-to-mobile and a one-time activation fee of $36. Family plans are also available.

This is actually a great package since I switched over to AT&T/Cingular back in February anticipating the launch and purchase of the iPhone, and i was shocked at AT&T data plans which were $34.99 unlimited data plan and another $4.99 for 200 text messages. I got a 1,300 minute shared family plan that was base $89.99. So needless to say with taxes and such I am paying over $150.00 monthly.

At $99.99 with 1,350 minutes and unlimited data, 200 text messages this is a welcomed savings.
