The next DVD format…

September 30th, 2005 Posted in General News

I thought this was pretty neat. The next generation of DVD’s called Blue-Ray HD DVD’s.

Since in a few years HD TV will be the norm it will translate into HD storage as well for movies. Since a normal DVD only holds about 4.7G for 2 hours worth of storage, an HD movie is supposed to be alot more than that so they need a new format that stores alot more.

I read that they are still a few months aways from launching this new format and the ‘Blue-Ray’ Disc technology seems to be the wave of the future! However, they want to market the new technology better than when DVD’s hit mainstream back in 1997.
